對長毛兔剪毛的時候更常用的就是用剪刀剪了。剪毛對技術要求也是比較高的，一般有著成熟剪毛技術的飼養人員。大約8分鐘左右便能夠剪一只兔子，在剪毛的時候是有一定順序的。要從長毛兔背部的中線開始剪，然后側面、屁股、脖子、頜下、肚子、四肢剪頭發。剪完毛之后要根據兔毛的長度、亮澤度等分好品質分別裝起來，更好是將毛絲的方向保持一樣。
